Davida
has been teaching various classes on Tarot as part of the Continuing
Education programs at both Santa Monica College and West Los Angeles
College since January 2006. Please check Davida's calendar for a list
of classes or contact either of the above-referenced colleges for
more information.
- Davida's
approach to teaching is one of a practical and positive nature
based upon her many years working the entertainment circuit.
- She
provides a safe environment for learning and experimenting.
- In
addition to providing basic information about what each Tarot
card means, she shows how many different ways they can be interpreted.
Davida's
ability to "read along with her students" allows her to assess
their strengths and weaknesses as readers while helping them develop
their intuition.
- While
she is serious about ethics and stresses this to all of her students,
she also reminds them that no matter what you see in someone's
reading, you should always put a positive, empowering spin on
it.
Her
Classes
All classes
are three hours and in each class, students will spend half of the
time learning/reviewing what the various Tarot cards mean and the
other half of the time, they will be performing readings for each
other.
- "The
Joy of Tarot: Introduction to the Art of Interpreting a Reading"
is an introduction to Tarot. This one-session class includes an
basic introduction to Tarot and provides an opportunity for students
to play the late Peter Rosson's "Tarot Profiling Game."
- Practical
Tarot I is a 6-week class which covers the 22 cards of the Major
Arcana.
- Practical
Tarot II is a 6-week class which covers the remaining 58 cards
of the Minor Arcana.
- Practical
Tarot III is a 3-week class designed for students who want to
learn various Tarot spreads or layouts and practice interpreting
readings.
- Practical
Tarot I, II and III are taught at Santa Monica College and sometimes
in conjunction with Westside Extension.
